KIK supports entrepreneurs in the establishment of thermal and electrical energy storage devices.

KIK has opened an application round starting from December 30th to support companies in designing and establishing renewable energy storage device projects. The budget for this round is approximately 7.8 million euros, and the deadline for submitting applications is March 3rd, 2023.

Support is provided for the design and construction of devices for storing thermal or electrical energy produced from renewable sources, as well as related activities. After the final payment of the subsidy, the created devices must be used for at least five years.

Companies registered in Estonia that own renewable energy production units and are not prohibited by law from owning or operating energy storage devices can apply for support.

The maximum amount of support for each megawatt of electrical energy storage capacity is 360,000 euros excluding VAT, and for every 1,000 cubic meters of thermal energy storage capacity, it is 220,000 euros excluding VAT. The maximum grant amount per application is one million euros.
