KIK opened an application round on January 6 to support investments aimed at increasing waste recycling capacity.
The purpose of the grant is to enhance the capacity for recycling waste generated in Estonia. As a result of providing the grant, more waste will be recycled in Estonia, and the transmission of waste data will become more efficient.
The budget for the round is 14 million euros, of which at least 5.6 million euros will be allocated to projects outside the Tallinn and Tartu regions.
Until May 24, support can be applied for the processing of separately collected textile, plastic, bio, and packaging waste. After that, the range of eligible recipients will expand to include processors of all types of waste. Support is provided for the implementation of the following activities:
- preparation of waste for recycling, provided that further recycling is proven;
- recycling of separately collected waste;
- digital solutions related to the creation, management, use, and submission of waste data to the state.
The support rate is up to 47.93%, depending on state aid regulations. The grant is intended for companies, and depending on the activity, the amount of support ranges from ā¬10,000 to ā¬3 million.
The total budget for the measure is 14 million euros, which comes from the European Union Cohesion Fund.
- For preparation for recycling and recycling of separately collected waste, the minimum grant amount is ā¬200,000 and the maximum is ā¬3,000,000 per project;
- For digital solutions related to the creation, management, use, and submission of waste data to the state, the minimum grant amount is ā¬10,000 and the maximum is ā¬150,000 per project.
