The Applied Research Programme supports the development of innovative technologies, products, services, and processes, enhancing the competitiveness and revenue growth of Estonian enterprises. Participation in the programme enables companies to develop new or significantly improved solutions with a measurable impact on business performance.
The available grant amount ranges from €250,000 to €2,000,000, with a required co-financing share between 20% and 75%.
The 10th application round will be open from 26 January 2026 (09:00) until 23 March 2026 (16:00).
Project ideas must be submitted for preliminary evaluation no later than 26 January 2026.
The 11th application round will be open from 3 August 2026 (09:00) until 28 September 2026 (16:00).
Each round has a total budget of €15,000,000.
Eligible applicants:
Estonian companies developing innovative technologies, processes, products, or services, as well as those assessing the technological feasibility of their ideas.
Entrepreneurs may apply individually or in cooperation with other Estonian or international companies, research institutions, laboratories, or intellectual property experts.
All companies registered in the Estonian Commercial Register are eligible to participate, regardless of size or years of operation, provided they are not in financial distress.
Funding may be used for:
conducting applied research;
experimental product development;
feasibility studies;
initial protection of intellectual property rights.
