On January 6, KIK opened a call for applications to support investments aimed at increasing recycling capacity for waste.
The objective of the support is to enhance the recycling capacity of waste generated in Estonia. As a result of providing the support, more waste will be recycled in Estonia, and the transmission of waste-related data will become more efficient.
The budget for the round is 14 million €, of which at least 5.6 million € will be allocated to projects outside the Tallinn and Tartu regions.
The support will be provided for the implementation of the following activities:
- preparation of waste for recycling, provided that further recycling is proven;
- recycling of separately collected waste;
- digital solutions related to the creation, management, use, and submission of waste data to the state.
According to the regulation, the types of waste eligible for support in this call for applications have been approved by a directive of the Minister of Infrastructure:
- separately collected plastic waste;
- separately collected biodegradable waste;
- separately collected textile waste;
- packaging waste.
Companies are eligible to apply for the support.
The support rate is up to 47.93%, depending on state aid regulations. The amount of support ranges from 10,000 to 3,000,000 €, distributed across the activities as follows:
- for the preparation of waste for recycling and the recycling of separately collected waste, the minimum amount of support is 200,000 €, and the maximum amount is 3,000,000 € per project;
